Personal Real Estate Corporation
Rich has been selling real estate in British Columbia since 1971 and is still going strong specializing in ranches, farms, oceanfront, lodges, marinas and development properties. Having sold property in every region and corner of the province his knowledge of the rural real estate market is second to none. He loves being involved in the business of BC, putting deals together, working with his wife Jill Wahl and the exceptional group of LandQuest® real estate agents in “Marketing British Columbia to the World®”.
LandQuest® Realty Corporation founder Richard Osborne has an extensive real estate background that began in Prince Rupert March 1, 1971. At 23 years old with no training and no experience he started selling real estate and in August of 1971 bought half the company that became Realty World Webber Realty.
From the beginning he has had a market niche selling oceanfront, islands, acreages and timbered properties on the north coast, central coast and Haida Gwaii. Today this niche market principal remains the core of the LandQuest® business model and LandQuest® still sells the lion’s share of acreages on the BC Coast.
Richard gained valuable industrial and commercial experience and made lifelong contacts while selling the entire Prince Rupert Industrial Park for the British Columbia Development Corporation.
He moved to the Lower Mainland, and in the early 1990s began marketing properties all over the province under the banner Richard Osborne’s Recreational Properties of BC. Recognizing the need for a company that had the expertise and skill to globally market BC’s unique and wide-ranging properties, Richard and partner Rudy Nielsen started LandQuest® Realty Corporation in the spring of 1996.
He has sold property in virtually every region and corner of the Province and his knowledge of the overall real estate market in rural British Columbia is second to none.
Long recognized as one of the foremost agents for rural, remote and recreational real estate, he has expanded his range of expertise and is now one of the leading realtors selling ranches, farms, oceanfront, lodges, marinas, timbered and development properties.
He loves selling real estate, putting deals together and being a part of the business of British Columbia. He takes particular pride in helping preserve numerous special properties by selling them to conservancy groups and park trustees.
He is known for staying involved in complicated and challenging transactions, helping to solve issues in a practical manner, keeping the deal together and saving legal costs.
The most gratifying part of his career in the last few years has been working with, mentoring and watching the LandQuest® real estate agents develop as true professionals.
Richard and his wife Jill Wahl, now his unlicensed assistant, have worked together since 1990 striving to provide the best possible marketing and service to their clients.
Richard earned a Diploma in Urban Land Economics, in Appraisal, from the University of British Columbia in 1975. His Professional Designations include Member of the Real Estate Institute of British Columbia R.I.B.C. and Fellow of the Real Estate Institute of Canada F.R.I.
