    Description

The territory is a family owned and operated third generation hunting outfitter providing fair chase spot and stalk hunting adventures for mountain goat, Canadian moose, black bear, and wolf. Offered for sale for the first time, the territory’s 5-year hunting quota includes 29 Moose and 7 Mountain Goats.

From remote fly-in hunts to semi-remote base camp or tent camp hunts, SRO can customize a hunt specifically to meet each client’s needs and budget. SRO is located in North Central BC on beautiful Francois Lake.

The 1,250 sq. mile (800,000 acres) guiding territory is a diverse mix of snowcapped mountains, rolling hills, dense coniferous forest, meadows, lakes and rivers an area rich in natural resources and wildlife. 60% of the area backs into the rugged coastal mountain range of BC and is only accessible by float plane.

The territory is located in the Skeena region of BC (Region 6) which takes in the northwest quarter of BC. Region 6 is well known as one of the best areas in all of BC to hunt. The geographic layout of the territory is coastal/interior with a 50% mix of mountains and a 50% mix of forested valleys and countless lakes. Due to the areas unique geography, this outfitter  is able to specialize in 3 different species as they are all abundant, moose, bear and mountain goats. Most of the mountainous part of the area is also protected by park, a true remote wilderness.

The territory comes with 3 different camps to conduct hunts from ensuing hunting pressure is spread out evenly through the territory ensuring proper game management. All camps are located on lakes and offer spectacular views and true wilderness hunt experiences.

    Nanika Lake Camp

The main fly-in camp, comfortable accommodations for up to 4 hunters. This area offers great hunting for mountain goat, moose, and excellent fishing. Nanika Lake is 15 miles long and nestled snugly in the mountains.

    Kidprice Lake Camp

Fly-in camp, comfortable accommodations for up to 2 hunters. This area offers great hunting for moose and great fishing in the lake and below the spectacular Nanika Falls. Kidprice is on the fringe of the mountains, its timbered rolling hills and massive valley are a true moose paradise.

    Atna Lake Camp

Fly-in camp, rustic accommodations for up to 2 hunters. This area is true remote wilderness offering excellent hunting for moose and mountain goat. Atna's large valley and mountainous landscape are one of those areas that make BC a hunter’s dream.

With the coast mountains to the west and rolling forested valleys and countless lakes to the east, SRO's geographic layout is what sets this territory apart. 3 parks protect almost the entire mountainous portion of the territory and with no access except by floatplane to the domain of the grizzly, moose and mountain goat. Forested valleys spanning off the eastern edge of the mountains mixed with one of the highest concentration of lakes in the area make for excellent moose and black bear habitat.

The area offers incredible mountain scenery, good fishing, hiking trails and beautiful campsites. There is a popular multi day canoe route which covers four lakes, though most paddlers do not actually paddle Nanika Lake. Instead, they paddle Lamphrey, Anzac, Stepp and Kidprice. This is about a 30 km (19 mi) return route. The longest portage is 2.2 km between Steep and Kidprice and there are a number of great campsites. The highlight of the trip is the Nanika Falls. If visiting the falls, the best place to land is at the water metering station on the west side of the river mouth. A 500-metre trail leads down to the falls from here. It is possible to continue to Nanika Lake via the Nanika River. This circuit starts on the north shore of Lamprey Lake, where there is a camping area and parking. There are wilderness camping spots along the route, including a small island suitable for camping on Anzac Lake.
