    Galena Bay

    A rural community that is primarily a recreational/lakeside cottage community with a few year-round residents. There are no commercial services in Galena Bay, Nakusp is about 40 minutes away and Revelstoke about an hour including the ferry. The Galena Bay ferry terminal connects Highway 23 South from Revelstoke to Nakusp. Galena Bay itself is known as one of the rare reasonably warm water bays on Upper Arrow Lake. The nearby area has excellent year-round fishing. Halcyon Hot Springs Resort is 10 minutes away and a bit further are some prime natural/backcountry hot springs.

    Trout Lake

    The town is 25 minutes away and is home to some 40 permanent residents who enjoy the peaceful life in a small remote community surrounded by nature’s wonders. In addition to these 40 residents there are many recreational dwellings and cabins in the town and along the lake, owned by people who have already discovered this remarkable are and visit for its year-round recreation. The town, although unincorporated, has paved streets, town water system and many amenities. There is a general store/gas station serving basic groceries and booze. A cat ski operation has a lodge and now caters to day skiers coming from Revelstoke Mountain Resort.
