Tizgay Lake is 867 metres above sea level. The area is 0.57 square kilometres. The highest point nearby is 948 metres above sea level, 1.1 km west of Tizgay Lake. It stretches 1.0 kilometres in the north-south direction, and 1.2 kilometres in the east-west direction.


    In the surroundings around Tizgay Lake, predominantly coniferous forest grows. The area around Tizgay Lake is almost unpopulated, with less than two inhabitants per square kilometer. The area is part of the boreal climate zone. The average annual temperature in the neighborhood is -1°C. The warmest month is July, when the average temperature is 13°C, and the coldest is February, by -12°C.

    Recreation

    Tizgay Lake is a great area for those who enjoy fishing, hunting and other outdoor recreational pursuits. The area is very well known for its excellent moose hunting. Hunting, fishing, biking, quadding, hiking, snowmobiling along with many other activities.


    Tchentlo, Indata and Tsayta Lakes are located nearby and provide equal opportunity for rainbow and lake trout and Dolly Varden. Witch Lake is a fly-in lake located 80 km (50 mi) by air from Fort St. James. Large rainbow and lake trout are resident in the lake.
