This is your opportunity to own one of the Cariboo’s most unique properties. A sprawling 360-acre private estate situated between two lakes, a creek with trout, nearly 3,000 feet of lakefront, three cabins/homes plus 3,200 ft airport with 60' x 40' hangar. This property is located approximately a one-hour drive from 100 Mile House, BC.
Murphy Lake is a hidden gem that not many British Columbian’s know about. Unlike some of BC’s interior lakes, Murphy Lake is an absolutely excellent swimming lake with clean clear waters. The fishing and boating are also excellent and with only a few other privately held properties on the lake, you almost always have the lake to yourself. The calm waters of the lake are also perfect to land your floatplane and tie up at the dock or land on the property’s 3,200 ft airstrip.
The main cabin is located at the northern end of the property with stunning lakefront on beautiful Murphy Lake. Just check out the photos to get an idea of the incredible views you would wake up to every morning. The log constructed cabin is approximately 1,100 sq. ft. in size and was built with quality in mind by German owners in the 1980s. The cabin has two bedrooms on the main floor and another bedroom in the upstairs loft area. The centrepiece of the cabin is a large stone fireplace located in the middle of the cabin providing warmth to both the living room, kitchen and sleeping areas. Although the cabin is “off the grid” it has all the amenities of your typical “on the grid” cabin with bathrooms, running water, propane stoves, and fridges, wood stoves, wood heater, propane heaters, fireplace, generator building and full solar systems. The generators are high quality, have low running hours and are certainly overbuilt for their intended use. They also have Xplore and Starlink satellite Internet services for real-time communications and phone services. The northern cabin has a separate self-contained guest suite attached to the detached garage which has one room sleeping quarters with a loft above. The guest suite has power and a woodstove. The northern cabin is well set up with a septic system and lake intake for water. The water is crystal clear and delicious.
The property enjoys approximately 1,600 feet of lakefront on Murphy Lake with the area directly in front of the cabin consisting of a beautiful sandy beach. Unlike many of BC’s interior lakes, Murphy Lake is actually an excellent swimming lake with clean clear waters. The fishing and boating are also excellent and with only a few other privately held properties on the lake, you almost always have the lake to yourself. The calm waters of the lake are also perfect to land your floatplane and tie up at the dock. The Oie Lake property has approximately 1,500 feet of gorgeous southern exposure lakefront.
At the southern end of the acreage, you’ll find the secondary home on the property which is located on Oie Lake and functioned as both a caretaker’s residence and secondary cabin for guests. This cabin is approximately 2,100 square feet with a main level, full basement and large deck with southern exposure overlooking the lake. This cabin is serviced with a septic system, solar panels, backup diesel generator, water licence on the creek with large cistern catchment and a newly drilled 500 ft well. Again, the views over Oie Lake to the south are spectacular. The secondary home on the property opens up the possibility of a group purchase with each party taking ownership over one of the cabins, or with a caretaker staying in the southern cabin giving you the comfort of someone there to maintain and provide security to your investment . . . or just clear some snow for you when needed.
If you are a pilot or an aviation enthusiast you need to check this property out. The construction of the 3,200 x 75 ft airstrip was completed in 2007. It doesn’t take a pilot to see that this airstrip was engineered and constructed with safety and quality in mind with a smooth solid surface. In fact, the property’s airstrip is considered an airport with details published on CND flight charts/maps and pilots flight supplement, with designation CDC5 Oie Lake. The airport is fully fenced and gated. Please see the picture section for a photo of the flight supplement info. The large airplane hangar was constructed at approximately the same time as the airstrip; it’s solidly built and can accommodate larger Cessna sized aircraft. The large covered building can obviously double as storage for your toys, boats, ATVs, equipment for the estate.
Wildlife in the area includes moose, deer, bears, coyotes and even the odd elk. For the outdoorsmen who enjoy fishing, hunting or just exploring the backcountry this property is second to none. A large network of logging roads and ATV and snowmobiles trails are on the adjacent Crown land and would take a lifetime to explore.
Although not included in the purchase price, the seller may have a list of tools and equipment available on a side deal.

100 Mile House began as a roadhouse during the Cariboo Gold Rush in the 1860s. It was originally known as Bridge Creek House, a stopping point located precisely 100 miles up the Cariboo Wagon Road from Lillooet—hence the name “100 Mile House.” The roadhouse served miners, ranchers, and travelers heading north toward Barkerville and other goldfields.
After the gold rush, the area shifted toward ranching and forestry, becoming a hub for logging operations by the early 20th century. The town remained relatively small until the post-World War II period, when it experienced modest growth with the expansion of forestry operations and improved transportation infrastructure.
The current District Municipality of 100 Mile House was incorporated in 1965, and it continues to serve as the commercial and service center for the South Cariboo region.
The area surrounding 100 Mile House lies within the traditional territory of the Secwépemc (Shuswap) Nation, specifically the Northern Secwépemc te Qelmucw.
