    Area Data

Titetown Lake is a truly special opportunity for those seeking unmatched privacy and an authentic rural British Columbia lifestyle. Surrounded by unspoiled wilderness, the lake offers owners the rare chance to enjoy year-round recreation in a setting that feels both remote and welcoming. Whether it’s world-class fishing and hunting through the warmer months or snowmobiling and winter sports once the snow falls, this property ensures every season is an adventure. An established network of high-quality forestry roads also provides excellent access to vast stretches of surrounding Crown land, giving you endless space to explore right from your doorstep.

The lake itself is a standout feature. With eight small islands scattered across its waters, Titetown is alive with natural beauty and wildlife. Owners often spot moose, black bear, foxes, otters, and deer along the shoreline, while bald eagles, loons, osprey, ducks, and geese make the lake their home. It’s a property where nature becomes part of your daily view.

As a deep, river-fed lake, Titetown is also renowned for its fishing. Longtime owners have caught rainbow trout, kokanee, Dolly Varden, and char, making it one of the region’s premier destinations for anglers. Combining recreation, wildlife, and the tranquility of private lakefront living, this property is the perfect investment in both lifestyle and legacy.

    History

Long before modern settlement, the region played an important role as part of the Nuxalk-Carrier Grease Trail, also known today as the Alexander Mackenzie Heritage Trail. Just four miles from the property lies a natural fjord crossing once used by horses transporting goods along the route that stretched to Bella Coola, linking the Interior to the Pacific Coast.

The region also became known for its historic cattle drives, with local accounts recalling the long and rugged journeys of ranchers moving their herds through this part of the Cariboo. More recently, in 2013, a portion of the surrounding landscape was designated as Titetown Provincial Park. Encompassing 1,070 hectares, the park preserves mature pine and aspen forests rich with wildlife, along with striking glacial landforms known as “Mackenzie’s Bowls,” further highlighting the natural and cultural significance of this unique wilderness.
