The community provides groceries, banking, building supplies, bulk fuel, feed, fencing materials, livestock products, mechanical services and access to veterinary care.
Highway 97 provides direct transportation north to Williams Lake and south to Kamloops, both important livestock-marketing and agricultural supply centres. The nearby South Cariboo Regional Airport supports private and commercial aviation, while 100 Mile House offers hospital care, schools, professional services and year-round amenities.
The regional economy is strongly connected to cattle ranching, forestry, transportation and tourism.
