    The Cariboo is cattle country however, forestry is currently the dominant economic force in Quesnel with two pulp mills, a plywood plant, a pellet plant and saw mills. The public sector is also an important employer.

    Quesnel is home to many small businesses servicing farms and ranches and the ever growing tourist industry.

    Quesnel is the commercial center of the North Cariboo and has a population of approximately 27,000 people. The city is well served by rail, road and air connections.
