    Williams Lake is located in the sheltered valley of the vast Interior Plateau of BC. It has an approximate population of 12,000 within the city limits. It is the largest urban center between Kamloops, Prince George and Bella Coola. The primary industries of Williams Lake are forestry, milling, mining and ranching.

    The area is served by the Cariboo Chilcotin School District 27 and has eight elementary public schools and one secondary school teaching grades 8-12. There is also the Thompson Rivers University campus offering a wide variety of programs.

    There are many transportation opportunities in and out of Williams Lake including the Greyhound Bus Lines, Pacific Coastal Airlines and CN Rail.

    Recreation

    This area is a major attraction for outdoor enthusiast. It offers abundant opportunities for mountain biking, ATVing, snowmobiling, kayaking, fishing hunting skiing (both downhill and cross-country), camping and hiking.
