    Lying in the rain shadow of the coastal mountains, Williams Lake boasts a surprisingly mild climate for this latitude, among the most comfortable in Canada. This area offers long, dry, sunny summers, and cool winters with little snow or wind.     Williams Lake is located in the sheltered valley of the vast Interior Plateau of BC. It has an approximate population of 12,000 within the city limits. It is the largest urban centre between Kamloops, Prince George and Bella Coola.

    The primary industries of Williams Lake are forestry, milling, mining and ranching. The area is served by the Cariboo Chilcotin School District 27 and has eight elementary public schools and one secondary school teaching grades 8-12. There is also the Thompson Rivers University campus offering a wide variety of programs.

    There are many transportation opportunities in and out of Williams Lake including the Greyhound Bus Lines, Pacific Coastal Airlines and CN Rail.


    Lakefront living offers so many recreational opportunities. On Williams Lake, you can enjoy ice skating and hockey in the winter or waterskiing, boating and swimming in the summer.

    The Williams Lake area is a major attraction for outdoor enthusiast.
