    Description

Featuring the log home of your dreams this 1.47-acre property offers a 4,560 ft2 log home custom built in 2000. The home is both functional and breathtaking in its design and craftsmanship. As you enter the home a great foyer greets you and light pours in from the floor to ceiling widows in the great room. The peaked room is 27’ high and the windows provide an expansive view of Nimpo Lake. The great room is adorned with a stone fireplace, which stretches from the basement up to the peaked roof 27’ above. The expansiveness of this room is impressive and yet the design makes it feel comforting and cozy.

The kitchen and dining area are open concept with ample sunlight and entry out both the backdoor and onto the large sun deck. The deck is approx. 1,316 ft2 and provides panoramic views of Nimpo Lake and the surrounding mountain landscape. This is the place to be in the summer whether barbequing or enjoying a glass of wine with friends.

The kitchen has a pantry, ample counter space, custom ornate fridge/stove as well as a second propane cook stove, dishwasher, and dual basin sink. All windows in the kitchen provide astounding views of the natural beauty outside. The open concept allows those in the kitchen to interact with guests sitting in the dining room. Chefs may also easily access the barbeque on the adjoining deck. The kitchen and dining room are perfectly set up for preparing and cooking large family dinners and hosting festive celebrations.

The main floor is complete with a private yet spacious office space, which is tucked away behind the stone fireplace. There is also a 3-piece bathroom. The bathroom is adorned with a classic ornamental soaker tub, toilet and sink.

The basement offers 10’ ceilings. This gives a spacious and inviting feeling to this living space. The basement is bright with the ability to walk out to a covered storage area in the back yard. This storage area sits under the deck and is spacious enough to house multiple boats and vehicles.

The main portion of the basement features a large family room centered around a Blaze King (king model) freestanding woodstove. The stove creates a warm ambience while you and your family watch the big game. Off of the living room is a wet bar with glass rack, fridge and bar top. This space is perfect for serving up drinks to friends and family. The basement is completed with a second walk out entry, boot room, two spacious bedrooms, and 3-piece bathroom.

The upstairs floor offers a quiet den/reading nook, which looks onto the main living room below. You are able to peer out the main living room’s large windows towards the lake down below. The master bedroom occupies the remainder of the upstairs level. The room is spacious with an adjoining bathroom. There is a balcony off the master bedroom where you can enjoy your morning coffee while taking in the views.

There are stair lifts installed for both the upstairs and downstairs level (these can be removed if needed). Upon viewing the home you are quick to discern that the residence is a masterpiece in craftsmanship, quality, and care. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime dream home.

Sharing the yard with the home is a 28’ x 34’ wired (200-amp service) shop. The shop has two overhead bay doors, a wood stove and a 3-piece bathroom (including shower). Whether you are fixing boats, working on cars, or hanging a moose, this is the perfect man cave to relax, or get chores done. The property also comes with two large storage sheds perfect for storing boating/fishing equipment.

The second home on the property was the original residence. It is primarily used as a guest residence for friends and family when they come to visit. It offers two bedrooms, a bathroom, living room, dining room and kitchen. The guest home is located right on lake, so guests may fall asleep to the sounds of the waves lapping gently against the shoreline.

The property has beaching gear, dock and wharf system where a new owner can moor both boats and float planes. The system can support aircraft as large as a Beaver. Beside the dock is a gentle and private boat launch where you can launch aircraft and boats effortlessly into the lake. The property was selected for its location, as the shoreline is protected by an island in the lake. This way westerly winds are prevented from crashing into the dock and shoreline making it a perfect location to tie up float planes to the wharf. The current owner specifically selected the property for its ability to safely secure float planes.

The upper portions of the property are largely flat with a gentle grade down to the lake. There is ample yard space and fresh green grass for children to run and play, or for a large garden. Ultimately, this property offers the complete package. It combines functionality, style and grace. This is truly a legacy property you will be proud to share with your friends and family.

    Area Data

Nimpo Lake is over 11 km long with numerous sheltered bays throughout. The lake is known for its float plane access and is considered a major jumping off point for backcountry exploration throughout the Chilcotin and the coast. Nimpo Lake sits in British Columbia’s Chilcotin region. The region is a high plateau stretching from the Coast Mountains in the west to the Fraser River in the east.

Ranching, logging and tourism are historically the region’s primary industries. Open grasslands provide ample summer pasture for large herds of roaming cattle. The Gang Ranch lies in the Chilcotin and is one of the largest beef producers in British Colombia. The region is home to members of the Tsilhqot'in and Dakelh peoples.

Nimpo Lake is also known for its fantastic wild rainbow trout fishing. People come from vast distances to fish these rich and abundant waters. Fishing using fly tackle and by trolling from motorized boats can both be effective. Nimpo Lake has a General Store for basic necessities including fuel. There is also a restaurant and post office. For larger grocery shops Williams Lake or Bella Coola is a scenic drive with a wide variety of shopping options.

    Recreation

The outdoor recreation across the wider area is limitless. There are hundreds of lakes across the Chilcotin for you to explore. Nimpo Lake is known for its water activities particularly fishing and float planes. You can explore the lake by kayak, or paddle board in the summer and by snowmobile or cross-country skis in the winter. Ice fishing is a popular sport during the winter months. Sought after experiences include the Turner Lake Chain, Hunlen Falls, (estimated single drop of 260 metres), the Rainbow Mountain Range, Monarch Icefields, Tweedsmuir Park. From the lake, float planes can provide flightseeing tours and access to several high mountain lakes for alpine camping, hiking and canoeing. Nimpo Lake is the gateway to the Great Bear Rainforest and the Bella Coola Valley.

There are trails throughout the region ideal for snowmobiling in winter and quadding in the summer. There are also designated trails for hiking, mountain biking or non-motorized winter activities such as cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, all accessible from the property. During the winter you can explore the lake and surrounding countryside on your snowmobile directly from the property. With thousands of acres of nearby Crown land, the exploration opportunities are endless.

If you are more into relaxing, the property itself is ideally set up to simply sit back relax and enjoy the scenery and serenity of the area. Whether you’re roasting marshmallows at the campfire by the chuckwagon, or enjoying a glass of wine at the beach house, you will never tire of the scenic beauty and endless outdoor recreation.

    History

The Chilcotin has long been settled by indigenous peoples. More recently, the wide-open grasslands has created a ranching industry and the numerous number of lakes teaming with wild rainbow trout has been the origins of the tourism industry, which has now expanded into limitless back country recreation opportunities.
