    Description

A true terrestrial paradise. This 5-acre property is a hobby farmer’s dream. Located on fertile soil the property has been meticulously manicured and developed to ensure food self-sustainability. The property is located on the gradual slope north of Lesser Fish Lake and is south orientated ensuring ample sunlight throughout the entire year. The property has excellent views of the lake and the wildlife, which frequents its shores. Lesser Fish Lake is a quiet lake with fishing opportunities. There is a boat launch and lake access immediately down the road from the property.

The property has been segmented into gardens, hay fields, orchards, pasture, and greenhouses. There is also a ravine and wooded area on the eastern edge of the property adding to its diversity. Three old growth Douglas firs stand as impressive sentinels on the upper pasture of the property. The property has multiple barns and chicken coops for raising goats, horses, pigs, or cattle.

The pastures have been cross-fenced to permit a rotational grazing program and the production of hay to help feed livestock over the winter. Presently the sellers are raising goats for milk, cheese and meat. The chicken coop houses both meat birds and laying hens ensuring a fresh supply of eggs daily. A water license, which pumps water from Lesser Fish Lake, provides irrigation ability for the gardens, fruit trees and hay fields.

The property’s outdoor orchard has ample fruit trees and haskap bushes. The south facing land soaks up ample sunshine ensuring a bountiful harvest every year. The garden is fenced to prevent deer from accessing. A large assortment of fruits and vegetables are grown in the garden each year. The garden is close to the home and its water supply.

The most unique feature of the property is the below ground greenhouse, which harnesses the suns heat and retains it using the earth as insulation. This greenhouse permits the growing of grapes and tropical fruit nearly year-round. There is an attached seacan, which provides storage and a place to start seedlings before transplanting them into the greenhouse, or garden.

For storing the bounties grown on the property there is a buried, walk-in seacan with power. The seacan and the earth’s insulation ensure a cool, dry environment where produce, meat and other food articles may be safely stored for prolonged periods of time. This space may also be used to store equipment and tools.

To the south of the home, situated on a precipice overlooking the lake, is a quaint 2-level cabin. The cabin is a cozy option for guests, or even for Airbnb rentals. The cabin has the basic essentials including a wood stove, sleeping quarters and eating area. The cabin provides a panoramic view of Lesser Fish Lake below.

The main residence offers 2,200 ft2 and has been meticulously maintained since its construction in 1975. There is an attached double garage, 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, open living area, functional kitchen, solarium, deck and ample storage. This is the perfect home to raise a large and healthy family.

This property is ideal for an aspiring hobby farmer looking to live a more self-sustainable existence. The property is turnkey and ready for its next chapter.
