Licensed as a Realtor® since October 1977, before that having spent many years surveying in Coastal and Northern BC and in the Canadian arctic.
A wealth of experience in dealing with development projects, subdivision proposals, re-zoning applications, public hearings, the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR) and generally a good working knowledge of the bureaucratic system and how it works, and of course hundreds of successful real estate transactions.
Trained for 3 years to become a BC Land Surveyor, however I decided to move into the real estate industry instead. I have attended numerous mapping and drafting courses along with years of architectural studies.
After gathering experience and knowledge over 18 years as a Realtor®, I decided that further education in my field would be beneficial. I studied at U.B.C and received my Agents License (Nominee) in 1995 allowing me to be Managing Broker of the LandQuest® Comox Valley Branch Office. |

I have served in the past as director of the Powell River Sunshine Coast Real Estate board, acting as the board's representative on the municipal planning committee. I have also received numerous listing and selling awards with well known national real estate companies including Realty World, Canada Trust, Coldwell Banker, and Royal LePage. I am a member in good standing of V.I.R.E.B (Vancouver Island Real Estate Board) and have received sales volume achievement awards several times.
I also work in close harmony with my wife Deborah Houston. Deborah, as an unlicensed assistant, has many years of administrative experience working in public relations and marketing. Our teamwork will assure that your real estate experience with us is handled with confidentiality, understanding and in a professional manner.

Over the years I have handled commercial, residential and land sales and subdivision developments in both urban and rural areas. We like to focus on Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands and the coastal mainland although we do have listings throughout BC.
