Description: |
|
This is a first time offering for the exquisite Earle Creek Estate. Brand new and situated in one of the most unique settings in the world, Earle Creek Estate is a British Columbian oceanfront trophy property. This home, situated upon 72.8 acres, overlooks the treasured Skookumchuck Narrows, world famous for its spectacular whirlpools and rapids. The property has at least 2634 feet of ocean frontage all mostly low bank and accessible.
Earle Creek Estate is water and air accessible ensuring ultimate privacy. Only a ten minute boat ride from Egmont or twenty minutes by Helicopter from downtown Vancouver, it is a very accessible private executive retreat. Unlike most remote water/air access only
properties in the British Columbia, Earle Creek Estate has BC Hydro service.
This type of detail and quality of construction is usually only found in West Vancouver and Whistler. The overall quality is well beyond the level of all other water access recreational dwellings known in the region. It is constructed in a post & beam style largely from
materials sourced and milled on the larger surrounding property.
The structure totals approximately 2727 sq. ft. on one level over a crawlspace foundation. Interior wall and ceiling finish is virtually entirely wood sourced from the surrounding property, while the floor is etched and stained concrete with in-floor heating coils. The kitchen features a commercial quality Ultra-line range built into the island with a custom range hood, sub-zero fridge, etc. The home is structured around the trophy centre-piece; a very large open four-sided stone fireplace extending a full two stories in height within the 20’ x 35’ vaulted great room area.
The Sunshine Coast has enjoyed much popularity over the past 5-10 years and is becoming a major hot spot in British Columbia for investors, retirees and tourists due to its proximity to Vancouver and Seattle. It is a popular summer region and contains many vacation cottages belonging to Vancouver residents. Picturesque islands and fjords abound along Highway 101 and the tidal waters offer excellent boating conditions. Coho and Chinook salmon as well as fresh water fish, including Rainbow and Cut-throat trout and Dolly Varden are found in good numbers making these waters very popular with anglers.
Earle Creek Estate is a jewel trophy property that is waiting for someone who is looking for the ultimate private retreat in one of the most unique settings in British Columbia.

Area Data: |
|
SUNSHINE COAST: The Sunshine Coast lives up to its name. Locals boast 14 more days of sunshine per year than HAWAII, with approximately 270 growing days per year. All of this is only two hours by car and ferry from Downtown Vancouver. With an annual total of between 1400 and 2400 hours of sunshine (that’s an average of 4-6 hours per day depending on where the measurements are taken). This is due to the benefits from a rain shadow cast by the Vancouver Island mountains which catch most of the moisture coming in off the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy the picturesque, 40-minute ferry ride from Horseshore Bay to Langdale, and continue with the paved coastal highway, following the coast northwards.
The Sunshine Coast is split into two portions on either side of Jervis Inlet. Roughly speaking, the southern half between the ferry slips at Langdale and Earls Cove occupies the Sechelt Peninsula, while the northern half between the ferry slip at Saltery Bay and Lund sits on the Malaspina Peninsula.
Bordered by the snow covered Coastal Mountains, this protected coastline stretches 175 Kilometers (105 Miles) along the northeast shore of the Strait of Georgia, from Howe Sound to Desolation Sound. Clean sparkling Pacific waters, secluded sandy beaches, bays with Red Cedar and Arbutus trees sprinkled along the coastline. Canada Geese, Bald Eagles, Blue Herons and Osprey share the sky and shore.
EGMONT: A small waterfront village on Secret Bay in Sechelt Inlet, Egmont is located a short distance east of the BC Ferries terminal at Earls Cove. Egmont is the trailhead for Skookumchuck Provincial Park, and features two modern marinas offering moorage and supplies for yachts and floatplanes. Boat Charters are available in Egmont, and guided tours can be arranged to the many natural attractions in the area. Egmont is named after the HMS Egmont, which served under Rear-Admiral Sir John Jervis at the Battle of St. Vincent on 14th February 1797. Look up to view the 2,000-metre pyramid-shaped peak of Mount Churchill towering over the waters of nearby Prince of Wales Reach.
SKOOKUMCHUCK: Earle Creek Estate has the best and only private view for one of the
greatest natural shows in British Columbia. It occurs twice daily in
Skookumchuk Narrows Provincial Park in Egmont at the north end of the Sechelt Peninsula. One of the largest saltwater rapids on Canada’s west Coast, Skookumchuk Rapids boils and churns as huge volumes of water force their way through Skookumchuk Narrows. Skookum is a First Nations word for strong and chuk means water. The most dramatic motions, when billions of gallons of water are sucked into cavernous whirlpools and whipped up into standing waves, occurs an hour after slack tide when the ocean is rising. At low tide, the bays around both points display astonishingly colourful and varied forms of marine life. Giant barnacles, colonies of starfish, sea urchins, and sea anemones thrive in these nutrient-rich waters.

FISHING: Close to the big city but far from the crowds, the Sunshine Coast is a fisherman's paradise. If you'd describe yourself as an avid fisherman, you really should check out this area during sport fishing season.
This region offers relatively protected waters for sport fishing on Georgia Strait, with Vancouver Island protecting the area from the open sea. The numerous islands also offer shelter, so you are not subjected to the high seas of the Pacific Ocean (no swells or fog).
The Sunshine Coast offers year-round guided fishing for Chinook Salmon at great resorts at such locations as Secret Cove, Pender Harbour and Powell River. Feeder Chinooks are present during the winter months, and the migratory Chinook start showing up in late spring, with the best fishing from June to September. Coho are best from June to September, while the Northern Coho are available from September to October. Pink and Sockeye go by from mid-August to Mid-September, and Chum Salmon from September thru October.
Another big attraction to the anglers is the bottom fish: large Red Snappers (Yellow Eye), Ling Cod, Rock Cod, Flounder and Tommy Cod. Most of these species are open year-round, with only Ling Cod being closed from October to May. For the seafood specialists, the prawning and crabbing is excellent year-round, all along the Sunshine Coast.
BOATING:
Earle Creek Estate is a perfect departure point for boat cruises up Jervis Inlet and Queens Reach to Princess Louisa Inlet and the Chatterbox Falls, one of the most splendid trips you can take in B.C. Voted most scenic natural anchorage in the world, Princess Louisa Marine Provincial Park has a charm and scenic beauty that must be seen and experienced to be fully appreciated, a tranquil paradise tucked into the Coast Mountains on the BC mainland.
Nearby is Musket Island Provincial Marine Park, a small Island in Blind Bay, located between the south shore of Hardy Island and the tiny Fox Island. It is a peaceful stop where wildlife like eagles and seals abound, the warm water encourages swimming and wilderness campsites are provided.
HIKING:
Opportunities for hiking is seemingly limitless in this part of British Columbia as you can explore the coastline beaches, the west coast temperate rain forests and fresh water lakes. Hike to beautiful Freil Falls, where water cascades nearly 450 metres from the mountain-top Freil Lake into Hotham Sound. Hike the trail between Ruby Lake and Klein Lake, a part of the Suncoaster Trail system.
